A few months ago I recieved the opportunity to work the NBA allstar games in Pheonix. Because of this opportunity I postponed my trip to Southeast Asia. However, the young ladywho is responsible for setting everything up is not good at her job. The weeks leading up to this event, Steve recieved all the emails, I recieved none. Steve had to forward me all my information. When it came down to booking the flight, Steve and I had different flights. He flew out one day before me. All in all, what I knew before I left: my flight, and the hotel I would be staying in. Had know idea what I would be doing nor for how long.
Yesterday, I flew into Arizona quite excited about where I was going, but a little nervous about what I would be doing. I got in last night about eight and had a meeting with the young lady who was in charge at nine. What happened at the meeting; found out what I would be doing and the shift I would be working--janitor, 2pm-2am. She told me that I am going to have to switch hotel rooms in 2 days to room with someone I don't know. I got one of the shirts I am supposed to wear, she can't find the other one. I am working for a promotional company called FILO- have know idea what that stands for. At the meeting this was also said, "sorry i'm being so vague, i'm tired."
I haven't had my first day of work yet, but I am nervous. Hopefully I can get a little more positive and make it through this.
